Each Step Up Brings Hope To A Family & To A Sick Child

We chatted with Sabreena Grewal last week to find out more about why she makes every Grouse Grind count!

1. Why did you sign-up for Grind For Kids?

I lost my little cousin to a brain tumor two years ago this July. It was the most devastating thing I have ever been through in my life. When I sat down to write the most difficult piece of literature I had ever had to compose, her eulogy… I remember sitting in my room and thinking “I would have done anything to save you, no mountain would be too big and no sea too far”. I am doing this in her memory. With it being two years now I felt this desire to do something to keep her alive for me, and like a god sent message, I some how came across this amazing charity and I didn’t hesitate to sign up. Top 5 Grouse Grind Newbie Tips

We asked fellow Grinders to share their number 1 tip to help you make it to the peak of Vancouver! Here are the top 5:

1. Set a pace and keep it.
2. If you need to stop, stop for no longer then 1 minute at a time and don’t sit down.
3. Don’t look too far up the hill.
4. Wear proper shoes and stay hydrated.
5. Remember to breath.
